As with his early painted works of the late 1970s most of Obies early pencil drawings have been sold without him ever taking photographs to remember them by. Most of them he suspects have probably faded with the sunlight over the years except for a few that hes seen recently that were kept in darker rooms such as bedrooms. Many of these works range from water scenes with fishermen and pirates to land scenes with parachuting men and women. His later drawings in the 1990s were more colourful and fun, some with stripey buildings and mischevious boys and girls playing jokes and tricks on each other - these were very popular in the late 1980's.
